Designed in Indonesian style as a series of separate pavilions, the lay-out of this luxury villa lends itself to family gatherings and provides an extra level of privacy for couples holidaying together. A purple-heart timber walkway links the four air-conditioned bedroom suites. Three are romantically furnished with four poster beds, two share access to an outdoor Jacuzzi, and each suite opens on to the lovely lawned gardens. The fifth pavilion houses a stylish sitting room, delightful semi-open dining room, and very smart kitchen, which may have added appeal with (optional) cook service.
The whole house is furnished in teak from Lombok, and the focal point of the gorgeous grounds is a Balinese gazebo, complete with oversized day beds and positioned between the poolside sundeck and the sea. Nestled at the end of a quiet lane, Kingfisher’s colourful gardens lead directly on to a secluded sandy beach and, while the house feels wonderfully private and peaceful, it is within easy reach of the market, shops and restaurants in picturesque St. George’s, and less than 10 minutes from Grand Anse, the longest stretch of beach on the island.
